Founded and edited by Catherine Wilson (née McGill), CATHERINEGRACE, INC is a platform to highlight business, financial, legal and other related issues that affect business owners and individuals working in the creative industries. Catherine strives to provide her readers with content they may not otherwise have access to and to present that content in a manner that is accessible, relatable and relevant.
In addition, CATHERINEGRACE, INC provides styling and fashion advice for those working in the corporate world.
Catherine’s background as a corporate intellectual property (IP) and technology lawyer, as well as her experience starting her own small styling & photography business, puts her in a unique position to assist others, those developing a small creative business or launching a solo-entrepreneur career for example, to think about the business side of their work.
Catherine is passionate about original design and the protection of the IP rights of designers, stylists, photographers, makers and creators. Catherine is the founder of the popular #createorcredit movement on Instagram and has recently launched #RejectReplicas to encourage the development and protection of original designs.
Catherine’s insights have been featured on the Life Instyle Blog and she has been a speaker at a Blog Society event. Catherine is also a contributor to Owning It: A creative’s guide to copyright, contracts and the law.
Catherine started her career as a solicitor at one of Australia's preeminent law firms, King & Wood Mallesons, later moving in-house to work as an intellectual property and IT lawyer in the financial service industry at AMP and Westpac. Catherine is now an in-house lawyer at Yahoo in Sydney, part of the global Oath group.
